WebAug 4, 2010 · My shop manual says cylinder head for 2.5 SOHC is 3.870-inch height, surface warpage limit is 0.0020 (you are out of spec by this), and surface grinding limit of 0.0040. I would return the head and insist on re-shaving to spec for surface warpage. Perhaps ask for a check of warpage while you watch. Are you sure of your measurements? Cylinder head warpage is a critical issue for vehicles and, if left untreated, can cause many other issues, such as gasket failure.
